As you last recall, Yahg and the siren Lilith were tasked to making Status Ailments and such. Due to their absence, I, Jack Redman and moderator of Runa shall be posting the work they did not finish in this topic with the help of Catherine Miller.

So stay tuned for ailments and such that can be exploited soon. If you request an ailment, or made one that seems particularly gruesome/awesome please pm me the details, and a curative (must have one or no guarantees on becoming one). Use my first post down below as an example of what I expect to see from you.

Thank you,

Jack Redman

PostSubject: Bleeding Out   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 1:55 pm

Bleeding Out

Status Ailment Description: Causes large amounts of blood to seep out a large, and deep wound. Though the wound may not always be fatal, it will sap the opponent's stamina gauge. Character Stamina will decrease 50 points for six posts before it naturally heals. (There is a guide to how this is layed out on the bottom of this post)

Curatives: Though this may sound like a drastic Status Ailment, it can be easily cured or dealt with by two recovery items:

+Suture Kit: Taking one post to use, you'll be fully recovered if used at the moment a Bleeding Out status occurs. You can get these at shops. NOTE: you will still have a -50 SP reduction due to the initial blow of Bleeding Out.

+Turnicate: Using this item by either getting it at a shop, or scrapping some of your own clothes or using cloth scraps. The Turnicate cuts the amount of posts for the wound to heal by half. So by your third post, your wound should be healed.
NOTE: You will lose a total of -150 SP by the time this ailment is healed if you were not defending or attacking during the period of recovery.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.

Key:
O=Opponent
B=The Bastard that inflicted the ailment on the Opponent
------------------------------------------------------------------
B
O= -50 SP (If used a Suture Kit at this point, the bleeding out status is healed)
B
O= -50 SP
B
O= -50 SP (If used a Turnicate, the bleeding out status is healed)
B
O= -50 SP
B
O= -50 SP
B
O= -50 SP but the bleeding out status is now healed.

PostSubject: Broken Limb   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 2:10 pm

Broken Limb

Status Ailment Description: Causes Strain on limb and greatly reduces your Total Stamina Amount for a period of time. Example, if a character breaks a limb, their total SP gauge is reduced by 200 SP for a total of three real life days. Example:

Character total SP: 1000/1000 SP
-Broken Limb status occurs-
Character total SP: 800/800 SP

Curatives: Though this may a little edgy Status Ailment, it can be cured or dealt with by one recovery item:

+Splint: Found in every shop, a splint can be used to cancel the SP total reduction effect instantly, as if the ailment never occurred in the first place.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.

NOTE: At this time, Broken Limb status cannot 'stack' or to be put simply: cannot be incurred twice while still active. Meaning, you can't break the opponent's limbs one by one till they're at 0 SP. That's too sadistic xD

But seriously, it can't happen until further notice.
Can you heal a broken limb just to get another broken limb? Yes.

PostSubject: Burning   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 2:23 pm

Burning

Status Ailment Description: Burning is the process of, well, being on fire or burning. It's slightly different from "BURN", which will be covered soon, and works like Bleeding Out with a reduction of -50 points of SP for six posts before you get the paired ailment of 'Burn'.

Example:

Key:
O=Opponent
B=The Bastard that inflicted the ailment on the Opponent
------------------------------------------------------------------
B
O= -50 SP
B
O= -50 SP
B
O= -50 SP
B
O= -50 SP
B
O= -50 SP
B
O= -50 SP; the 'Burning' has stopped, but now you have a 'Burn'.

Curatives: Though this may sound like a drastic Status Ailment, it can be easily cured or dealt with by two recovery items, two spells, and two environmental actions:

RECOVERY ITEMS
+Fire Blanket: Found every where within shops, this will stop the burning instantly.
+Water Stone: found in shops or by random places near water or dropped by some enemies; if the user has no magic one can use a water stone to cast water magic upon themselves for one post before the stone breaks.

SPELLS
+Water: If you can cast magic, just cast water on your self.
*+Ice: In the event if your burning due to Troll Fat oil, this is the only way to be rid of the burning effect is to freeze yourself with your own magic.

ENVIRONMENT ACTIONS
+JUMP INTO WATER (if there is logical means for some to be near by in the environment you are burning in)
+STOP-DROP-AND ROLL!! (if you want to be rid of the flames during a duel, run away from your opponent, and use an entire post to do this action-meaning now stop drop and rolling than instantly out and into the fray again. You must wait your next turn in order to do that.

*Note: there are some traps/weapons that use troll fat. Troll fat is like napalm-you cant be rid of it with water alone. Since most people don't normally survive Napalm, to make it less broken I designated the power of 'Ice' to be the only sure way method to stop burning when Troll Fat is involved.

PostSubject: Burn   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 2:26 pm

Burn

Status Ailment Description: Much like 'Broken Limb', however, Burn has a penalty that affects the character's SP and MP. Taking 150 total SP and 150 total MP off your Total Current amount for a total of three days real life time.

NOTE OF IMPORTANCE: You don't always have to be 'burning' to get 'burnt'. Lightning based attacks can cause the status of being 'burnt' without incurring the status ailment effects caused by 'burning'.

Example:
Character total SP: 1000/1000 SP
Character total MP: 2000/2000
-Burn status occurs-
Character total SP: 850/850 SP
Character total MP: 1850/1850

Curatives: Though this may sound like a drastic Status Ailment, it can be easily cured or dealt with by two recovery items:

+Burn Ointment: Found every where within shops, this will cure the -150 SP/MP total reduction instantly.

+Honey: You can simultaneously begone with the -150 SP/MP total reduction instantly, as well as regain any lost SP and MP both by 200 SP/MP.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.

PostSubject: Migraine   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 3:19 pm

Migraine

Status Ailment Description: Much like 'Broken Limb', however, it only affects your total MP and its for a shorter period of time. Migraine is a splitting headache that takes away half of your total MP for a total of one day.

Example:
Character Total MP: 3020/3020 MP
-Migraine occurs-
Character Total MP: 1510/1510 MP

Curatives: There are two items that work well to cure this ailment:

+Head Ache Medicine: Found in shops, this will cure the MP total reduction instantly.

+Coffee: Drinking this on the battlefield will not only cure the ailment, but it will also give you the Haste status buff abilities for a total of 4 turns before it wears off.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.

PostSubject: Slow   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 3:26 pm

Slow

Status Ailment Description: Slow is both a 'spell' and an ailment. When one is inflicted with 'Slow', they must forcefully change their posting style in a more 'lethargic' manner. Effects of 'Slow' only last three turns, but it is indeed a scary ailment:

Example: For every three simultaneous attacks against the inflicted character, that character can only block one of the attacks.

Slow can also be used to cancel out the Status Buff "Haste".

Curatives: There are two methods that work well to cure this ailment:

+Haste Spell: Casting Haste upon yourself will cancel out Slow's ailments, but does not give you haste's abilities.

+Coffee: Drinking this on the battlefield will not only cure the ailment, but it will also retains Haste's status buff abilities for a total of 4 turns before it wears off. (due to it being in your system)

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.

PostSubject: Stunned   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 3:35 pm

Stun/Paralyze

Status Ailment Description: An ailment that causes the inflicted character unable to move for a duration of two full posts.
Example: You State you cannot move for two turns, just reflect the situation in your head, curse the world, etc. You can't do anything...just deal with it till your third turn.

Key:
O=Opponent
B=The Bastard that inflicted the ailment on the Opponent
------------------------------------------------------------------
B
O= Stunned
B
O= Stunned
B
O= Able to move again

Curatives: There are is no method to being cured from this, since there is no cure-being one of the rare exceptions to status ailments here on Runa.

PostSubject: Petrification   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 3:49 pm

Petrification/Petrify

Status Ailment Description: A terrible status ailment to suffer with! Those inflicted must post the process of being turned to stone from the feet up, or from the wound outwards! The inflicted has three turns to try and fix the problem before they completely turn to stone; all the while their speed is becoming reduced like the ailments received during slow!

Key:
O=Opponent
B=The Bastard that inflicted the ailment on the Opponent
------------------------------------------------------------------
B
O= Petrification is slight, still able to move
B
O= Petrification is moderate, speed is reduced greatly
B
O= Petrication is high, the inflicted is unable to move or defend
B
O= Petrication is complete, the inflicted is trapped/dead (the poor bastard can post what they look like as a stone statue)

Curatives: Though this may sound like a drastic Status Ailment, it can be easily cured with its only recovery item:

+Soft: A strange liquid that seems unworldly to Runa is actually sold quite often on Runa. You can also receive one from a Basilisk if you kill it in battle.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, if the inflicted has a buddy who won't mind comically carrying the stone sculpture to a Mystic Healer. Other than that-the person is dead and will have to go through the NewGuise procedure to get back into the game.

Author's notes: Personally...I kind of find this ailment fun and exciting rather than a pain Razz

Though, to increase pain-cast haste on the enemy your petrifying and reduce the posts they have till they become stoned to two posts Twisted Evil

PostSubject: Poison   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 4:18 pm

Poison

Status Ailment Description: Another terrible status ailment to suffer with! Those inflicted must post the process of becoming dizzy and suffering the effects of poison running rampant throughout their body. There are several kinds of poisons out there, each has a different penalty:

+Moor-Weed Poison: A relatively weak poison. Only takes -5 SP every turn you have after the post you got poisoned.
*Wolfsbane: A moderate poison. Takes -20 SP every turn you have after the post you got poisoned.
+Bella Donna: A highly potent poison that also causes CONFUSION. Takes -50 SP every turn you have after the post you got poisoned.
**Elfsbane Venom: A volatile venom that seems to get stronger once another poison or venom is discovered. Extracted from Elfsbane spiders residing in Selgeran. The venom takes a whopping -100 Sp and -100 MP every turn you have after being inflicted with the poison.

*Okami/Werewolves are effected by this poison greatly. Instead of -20 SP reduction, they get a whopping -50 SP for every turn.
**Elves are in danger of this poison. The Venom targets elves natural magic circuits and deteriorates their muscle tissue at an alarming rate. Elves receive a -200 SP and -200 MP for every turn.

The poison will continue to ravage the body till Stamina is at 0-in which the character wont KO, they simply die.

Curatives: Each poison is different, and there is no one simple 'cure all' miracle anti-venom.
This is the list:

+Moor-Weed Flush: A strange liquid that when taken, flushes the poison out of your system.
+Lycanized Moon Flow: An alcoholic beverage that seems to have a curative side effect.
+Calabar bean: A bean grown on the coast of Droxis Democracy. Cures Bella-Donna.
+Phosphorous Blue Herb: A rare herb found deep within Elfbane Spider nests; it is the only known cure for Elfsbane venom.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer. The only exception for this is with Elfsbane Venom, since the herb is rare and can only be found, not bought.

PostSubject: Confusion   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 4:26 pm

Confusion

Status Ailment Description: A rather comical but just as scary ailment. Those who are confused will lash out on anybody-friend or foe alike, as well as NPC's with no hindrance or simply being 'snapped out of it'. It lasts for one entire real life day.

Example: The person inflicted must go against all rationality, and start attacking everyone due to hallucinations or some other cause-mostly mistaken identity mixed with fear. Most of all: have fun with it :p

Curatives: you have to immobilize them in some way; fighting them till they are knocked out; causing them to 'SLEEP' or simply giving them a day to run it's course.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, friends can try to bind the inflicted down and drag them off to be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.

PostSubject: Sleep   Status Ailments and their Curatives EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 4:38 pm

Sleep

Status Ailment Description: Sleep is caused by either inducing a sleep spell, sleep powder, or a Tranquilizing bullet/Dart. The inflicted must post they are sleeping till they are hit hard by friend or foe-but other than that they cannot move. While they are sleeping, they will restore any lost SP and MP by +50 points for each turn they are sleeping.

Example: Be creative. I don't know, think about pretty women/men while your sleeping, sleep talk- just have fun with it!! xD

Sleep can also be used to cancel out the Status ailment "Confusion".

Curatives: The best ways...are always the funniest ways...

+Physical: It takes a physical attack of about 100 SP to snap the inflicted out of rest. -100 SP are taken from both parties.

+Coffee: Wow...this bitter liquid's practically a cure all! Pour it down their throat and hear them scream in pain xD

+Water: Using any method involving water pouring over the face always gets me up and Adam.

+Comical: Unless if its just for comical use that someone is asleep, any method to get them up can work-like saying: "Food!", "half off on such and such", "I'M NAKED!" (though depending, this might just put them into a coma...so better not xD)

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.

Blind

Status Ailment Description: Causes the character to be blind for about 5 posts. Firearms and long range weaponry become useless in this event. Unless your character has trianed to fight blindfolded, you are forced to drop your defense and offense and accept 2 for every three blows. If you are trained, you must at least accept 2 for every four.

Key:
O=Opponent
B=The Bastard that inflicted the ailment on the Opponent
------------------------------------------------------------------
B
O= Your in the dark...at all times of the day.
B
O= Still blind as a bat
B
O= My Grandma can see better than you, and she's blind in one eye
B
O= Is that sasquatch to your left? No, just Chuck Testa...
B
O= your back to normal

Curatives: Though this may sound like a drastic Status Ailment, it can be easily cured with one recovery item:

+Eyedrops: using these will get your vision back instantly. Bought at shops.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.

Nausea

Status Ailment Description: The character is sick and every even turn they have, they must briefly stop and puke out -5 SP. This is perhaps the sickest ailment (literally).

The effects last well over the battle is over....so try to be 'odd' xD
Example:

Key:
O=Opponent
B=The Bastard that inflicted the ailment on the Opponent
------------------------------------------------------------------
B= initiates Nausea
O= first post
B
O= -5 SP
B
O
B
O= -5 SP
B
O
B

Curatives: Easy-here is one:

+Digestive Medicine: Taking one will stop the pain...and your projectile vomiting.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.

Silence

Status Ailment Description: Causes the character to be unable to cast any kind of magic-and also forces the character unable to converse for a hex has disabled their vocal cords; leaving them to express their irritation with facial expressions and leaving themselves to think mean thoughts.

Curatives: In some cases, you really just want the annoying traveling companion to shut their trap for good. In those cases, I don't recommend using any sort of cure because if they're silenced your in the gold! Very Happy
...however, if you need to cast that life spell right away...:

+"Potion of the Mermaid": Yeah...I totally went Disney on your asses. Found in Oceans in shallow coves, marked by a spirally gold conch shell. Also used as a perfume by Droxis Democracy Aristocratic women.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.

Knockdown

Status Ailment Description: Causes the target character to be knocked back in play. Doing so will either cause them to be temporarily stunned or on their back after the move has been initiated. This is like 'stun', so those affected cannot instantly counter attack after being 'Knocked down'.

Curatives: There are some items that may help to reduce the chance of this occuring:

+"Float Spell": If you can cast magic, Float can be used for a duration of the entire battle. Though the effects can be taken away by enemies by using the counter magic "Dispell".

+Uplifting potion: Drinking this allows the ability to be used for a duration of four turns before wearing out.

Necrosis
Status Ailment Description: Causes the character to be unable to heal their HP gauge. Any healing spell, potion, magic, etc. will end up doing more harm than good! For instead of adding HP, the curing powers inflict more pain. Reviving potions/magics will instantly kill the victim of Necrosis. Symptoms: Pale Green skin pigment with grey blotches.

Curatives:
+"????": Unknown yet; subject to change when or IF HP system occurs.

+Alternative Cure method: Since this status still occurs out of a duel, it can also be healed by going to a Hospital or some form of Med Clinic or Mystic Healer.
