Jace's eyes readjust to the light as his lids peeled back. Warm sunlight radiated through the small shack's window upon his face. He had his right hand behind his head, and his left across his chest. He blinked a couple times, unsure what he was doing for a moment; the figure of the man whom he had seen often, and perhaps, surmised, would be him someday:



"...." he sighed, blinking the image away. He held the dream catcher around his neck and frowned. "..and here I thought you were supposed to help filter my dreams." he says in a tired tone, sighing once more as he folds his right arm across his eyes, dropping the dream catcher upon his chest. The sounds of the Settozai Ocean's waves and of gulls cawing in the air were soothing yet after years of living in such a place he could practically channel it all out. The sound of bustling people running about, doing their daily labors made him groan as he forced himself out of bed. He rubbed his fingers between the locks of yellow hair and yawned before rubbing his neck. He was in a tanktop and shorts, but would need to change and get ready for the day; he was going to check if there was anything to do at the Information Square or see if the seamen needed any help unloading their wares. His carpentry mentor was still on a field expedition in Serial Barbarian territory, and he wouldn't be due back for another six months or so. His grandparents were already preparing for their own daily duties, his grandmother already cooking something as told by the stomach rousing scent rising from the kitchen, while his grandfather was probably already in town to haggle and make some Talis.

He stood up from his sitting position on the bed and walked over to the bathroom where he showered and shaved. Once finished he dawned on his day clothes and proceeded out of the family home that belonged to his grandparents.

He didn't disturb his grandmother as he sneaked past her, exiting into the street. It felt pleasant in the warm sea breeze, and he couldn't help but smiling as he made his way down to the pier, the images of his dream beginning to fade from his mind.

Jace paused, mid stride and nervously rubbed the back of his head and chuckled, looking back at his Grandmother with a smile. "S-sure! I'll be back later with the ingredients in hand!" he exclaimed before running off. He wasn't expecting to have been caught by his Grandmother so quickly, but these things happen from time to time.
